The 2010 Honda Pilot has standard front wheel drive, but the top end Pilot trim is available with all wheel drive system. The all wheel drive system also has a driver-selectable ?lock? feature that routes maximum 70 percent of torque to the rear wheels at speeds below 19 miles per hour.
The 2010 Honda Pilot has great passenger room, and it has standard two-stage heated seats on the EX-L model and incorporated with rear window sunshades during the long trip. The 2010 Honda Pilot looks very stylish in comparison to its predecessors.
The 2010 Honda Pilot delivers smooth ride with its efficient V6 engine; it has smart interior storage features. The 2010 Honda Pilot has mediocre acceleration, and average fuel economy, as well as back-of-the-pack brakes.
2009 Pilot

The new Honda Pilot has received new exterior styling, enhanced on-road driving refinement and increased passenger and storage space.
All models are equipped with a more powerful 250 horsepower 3.5 liter i-VTEC V6 engine matched to a 5-speed automatic transmission. All Pilots also get Variable Cylinder Management (VCM), a cylinder deactivation system which switches engine operation to 3 or 4 cylinder mode when cruising for added fuel efficiency.
Also new is the Pilot's modernized and attractive interior which provides space for up to eight passengers and still adds additional cargo space behind the third row. The Pilot is one inch wider and adds nearly three inches in length and wheelbase compared to the first generation (2003-2008) model.
Models include the LX, EX, EX-L, and upscale Touring, each with front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive (prices follow).
Honda has also added many new standard features to the Pilot including a Class III towing hitch, hill start assist, larger 17 inch wheels, a lift-up glass tailgate hatch, a telescopic steering column, and enhanced audio systems.
In addition, the Honda DVD Rear Entertainment System is available on the Pilot EX-L and Pilot Touring.
2008 Pilot

For 2008, a Value Package (VP) and a Special Edition (SE) have become available. The well-equipped Pilot VP replaces the Pilot LX in the lineup and the premium Pilot SE package adds to the features of the Pilot EX, which remains in the lineup.
2007 Pilot

In a mere 188.0 inches, the Pilot packs three rows of seating suitable for adults, if not for NBA players. And when you don?t need the third row, it folds easily to provide generous cargo capacity, which can be further expanded by folding flat the second-row seat.
This versatility is wrapped in an unpretentious, well-designed package. The interior is sensibly laid out with comprehensible controls. Power comes from Honda?s smooth 244-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 that has a variable-displacement feature in the front-drive Pilot. With or without variable displacement, the powerplant delivers more than enough refined performance as well as decent fuel economy for such a commodious machine. After six years in the crosshairs of its competitors, the Pilot remains the mainstream-SUV champ.
2006 Pilot

Honda launched the midsize Pilot sport utility vehicle for 2003, billing it as "not too big, not too small." Larger than the company's compact CR-V and youth-focused Element, the Pilot replaced Honda's Passport.
New for 2005 was a 255-horsepower V-6 that operated via a drive-by-wire throttle system. Upper gear ratios in the five-speed-automatic transmission were modified to yield smoother transitions. All trim levels added a tire-pressure-monitoring system.
More standard features, including a Maintenance Minder and three-row side curtain-type airbags, go into 2006 models. For the first time, a two-wheel-drive version with Variable Cylinder Management is available. The VCM system can automatically switch the Pilot's 3.5-liter V-6 between six- and three-cylinder modes to improve fuel economy.
Under new Society of Automotive Engineers testing standards, Honda's V-6 engine is now rated at 244 hp and 240 pounds-feet of torque. Actual performance is the same.
Three versions are available: LX, EX and top-of-the-line EX-L. Honda's Vehicle Stability Assist electronic stability system and XM Satellite Radio are standard on the EX-L. A new rear camera is integrated into models with the navigation system.
